About Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC):
Bangladesh
Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), established under the
Agricultural Development Corporation Ordinance, 1961 (EP Ordinance
XXXVII, 1961), as the then East Pakistan Agricultural Development
Corporation. In 1975, BADC was renamed as Bangladesh Agricultural
Equipment Supply and Services Corporation (BAISSC), because the
government was considered to be different from other development
institutions in the agricultural sector. But in 1976, the name of BAISSC
was re-changed and the name of the BADC was reinstated. Although BADC
is based in Dhaka city as an autonomous organization under the Ministry
of Agriculture, the scope of its service extends throughout Bangladesh.
Field offices are up to the upazila level, and in some cases, there is a
vast network of offices in more remote areas.
